Our dedicated Volunteers.........
The following people help make everything happen. We are extremely grateful to them for their dedication and contribution to making our events such a success.
Our Mission Statement:
It has always been - and will always be our goal to offer Professional, Quality, Affordable Dance Instruction and Dances for everyone without the high cost of Franchises, and expensive overhead. We are not a Franchised Dance Studio, Private Club, or Organization which requires membership fees to receive the full benefits of our Classes and Dances. We believe dancing is for everyone and should be available to the general public regardless of age or income. We are extremely grateful to the City of Vero Beach Recreation Department who co-sponsors all of our events and helps keep our cost low so that everyone can fullfill their dream of becoming a better dancer at an affordable price.
 Ray Duryea:
From Kalamazoo, Michigan. I started my Professional Dance career over 29 years ago here on the Treasure Coast. As a former Southeastern Dance Champion, I have received numerous Top Teacher Awards. I co-owned the very successful Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Vero Beach for 17 years and received numerous Manager of the Year Awards. In 2003, I, along with my business partner Eddie Bui, decided it was time to bring dancing to the General Public in a venue that would provide space to grow. With the help of the City of Vero Beach Recreation Department this dream came true in 2003 when we started LOD Enterprises. Since that date our Dance Classes and Dances have grown beyond our wildest of dreams.
Group Class Instructor, Music Director, Owner of LOD Enterprises.
 Eddie Bui:

From San Juan, Puerto Rico, Eddie started his professional career over 25 years ago. He is an award winning Professional Ballroom Instructor and competitor with both Regional and National Titles. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication and a focus in Theater from Spalding University in Louisville, Ky. Eddie's achievements also include: Top Teacher Awards for 18 consecutive years for the Southeastern (5 State) Region and numerous Professional and Pro-Am Championships. A skilled choreographer, Eddie has coached many of this areas Top Professional and Amateur Dancers.
Exactly what is LOD?. LOD which is the name of our company (LOD Enterprises) is an abbreviated term for Line of Dance.

Line of Dance is the counter-clockwise direction in which dancers move around the dance floor for Dances that travel such as Waltz, Fox Trot, Tango, Quickstep, Two Step, and Viennese Waltz. Dances such as Cha Cha, Swing, West Coast, Rumba, Merengue, etc. are considered spot dances (Do not travel) and LOD does not apply.

To put it simply LOD or Line of Dance is like driving your car on a two lane road. To avoid collisions everyone must drive in the same direction counter clockwise around the dance floor. (This applies only to dances that Travel as stated above). The outermost lane of the dance floor is customarily traveled by more fast paced dancers with slower paced dancers making their way around the floor in the inner lane. The center of the floor is typically used for those not traveling or couples who wish to practice a particular movement without interrupting the flow of traffic.

Just as there are rules of the road there are also rules of the dance floor. Stopping on the Dance floor to have a conversation with someone else is like stopping traffic and should be done only off the Dance Floor completely.

Always keep in mind that collisions will happen and they are never done on purpose. If you do collide with someone simply apologize and move on.

We are very proud of our companies name and hope this information will help the next time you step on the Dance Floor.
